PvP Part 2 is out now and so are the DLCs;

When we did PvP Part 1 back in December we purposely called it “Part 1” as a way to force ourselves to make another one. The PvP Community in Trailmakers is big and contributes to keeping the game alive, so an aiming servo and a new map wasn’t quite gonna cut it.

So today we are releasing Deathmatch, Flak Cannons, and two new underwater weapons for everyone. For those thirsty for more, consider buying Packing Heat for more weapons or Frontline for incredible new skins and sounds. Buying those DLCs actively funds the development of Trailmakers!

Thank you all so much for the hype you have shown for this update as we have been developing it. It has ignited our ambition to maaaaybe do a third one? Anyways, that’s for the future! 

At 14.00 today we will be doing some server-hopping live on Twitch ([dynamiclink href="https://www.twitch.tv/playtrailmakers"][/dynamiclink]) and YouTube ([dynamiclink href="https://www.youtube.com/@FlashbulbGames"][/dynamiclink]).

  • DEATHMATCH - Deathmatch game mode is now available in the Great Carrier Reef!

    • Choose from a long list of server configurations to tailor the game mode exactly to your needs.

  • GREAT CARRIER REEF - Level design changes to balance the map for Deathmatch.

  • UI - We heard you like UI changes so we changed the UI of the server browser (no there won’t be a toggle, please don’t kill us. The server browser was old and sick. Had to be put out of its misery. It was mercy. MERCY.)

  • PIONEERS - Okay, we were really proud of the tutorial we made and we just wanted everyone to see it. But when you skip it now you will no longer be forced into it when booting up the game (please play it though, it’s so cool. It got talking frogs and shit, I mean come on)

  • BLOCKS - The weapons have hit the gym and gotten some shiny new muscles (It’s actually the muzzle flashes that have changed but cba with making a better pun).

  • TOGGLES?!?! - Distance Sensor now has a “Detect Only Blocks” toggles.

Full Patch Notes:

  • GENERAL - Improved water surface bullet impact effects.

  • GENERAL - Improved auto aim priority. If you are shooting at a player target now and chunks of the structure break off, the auto aim will now better priortize aiming at the section the player is still sitting in rather than the debris.

  • GENERAL - When using the Time of Day slider in Session Settings the UI will now fade out for a better preview of how that setting will look.

  • GENERAL - Added Steam Rich Presence to more maps/game modes.

  • GENERAL - Added a DLC Carousel to Main Menu.

  • GENERAL - Removed the Quick Join Multiplayer flow. No more joining into a random server and getting kicked because you didn’t read the server rules that you couldn’t see before joining!

  • PIONEERS - Added the new blocks so they unlock at level 25 in Pioneers Campaign.

  • PIONEERS - Changed the Craft Key from E to F. Unchanged for Controller.

  • BUILDER - Reorganized the sub categories within the Weapons Category.

  • BLOCKS - Changed Default Keyboard Input on the Underwater and Outboard Boat Engine from W/S to Space and CTRL. Structures that have had custom bindings set will not change, only those that have been left with Default input.

  • BLOCKS - Changed Default Keyboard Input on the Helicopter Engine and Stackable Helicopter Engine from W/S to Space and CTRL. Structures that have had custom bindings set will not change, only those that have been left with Default input.

  • BLOCKS - Increased Power Core Cost of the Minigun from 4 > 5.

  • BLOCKS - Increased the fire rate from 0.1s > 1s  on the Metal Crate Dispenser. Also made the crates able to be destroyed.

  • BLOCKS - Smart Cannon

    • Max Horizontal Aiming Angle changed from 95 > 45

    • Max Up Aiming Angle changed from 70 > 45

    • Max Down Aiming Angle changed from -70 > -20

  • BLOCKS - Shotgun

    • Damage per pellet changed from 50 > 40.

  • BLOCKS - Space Blaster

    • Max Horizontal Aiming Angle changed from 60 > 40

    • Max Up Aiming Angle changed from 60 > 45

    • Max Down Aiming Angle changed from -60 > -30

  • BLOCKS - Mini Grenade Launcher

    • Reduced Reload Cooldown from 5s > 3.5s

    • Blast Pushback Force reduced from 800 > 150

    • Max Down Aiming Angle changed from -5 > -10

  • BLOCKS - Updated sound design and audio set up of the old Dispenser Blocks (Beach Ball, Snowball, Concrete Wall, Metal Crate and Dice Dispensers).

 

Fixes

  • PIONEERS - Fixed a bug in the For Sunreach! mission where some Dogfighters would spawn in the wrong location at the Passenger Step.

  • PIONEERS - Fixed a MP bug where if you were 500+m away from another client completing a Mission that you were both on you would not get the Mission Outro Dialogue.

  • PIONEERS - Fixed a MP bug which meant you could not decline a Mission Invite, if you had previously completed it.

  • PIONEERS - Fixed a bug with the light from the BOTNAK Shields around BOTNAK Camps not correctly being removed when the Shield was destroyed.

  • PIONEERS - Fixed a bug where the Cargo Delivery Zone marker and Cargo would re-appear after Mission completion.

  • PIONEERS - Fixed a bug where the drill part of the Mega Drills would not do as much damage as intended.

  • PIONEERS - Fixed a bug where an empty Mission step would appear in the Active Mission UI.

  • PIONEERS - Fixed a bug where a repair would not occur if in Test Drive state with unowned Textures but a Repair Token was still consumed.

  • PIONEERS - Fixed some assets in Withering Heights that had missing faces.

 

  • GENERAL - Fixed a bug where setting custom Graphics in a session would not correctly restore them until you changed a setting again in a new session. 

  • GENERAL - Fixed a bug where an incorrect “In Passenger Seat” message would appear when transforming from a structure with a Passenger Seat to one without a Passenger Seat.

  • GENERAL - Fixed a bug with the Block turning to scrap shader being incorrect.

  • GENERAL - Fixed a Controller bug which prevented scrolling if selection was on a slider.

  • GENERAL - Fixed an Oh No that would occur if a seat was entered more than 1024 times in a single session.

 

  • BUILDER - Fixed an Oh No that could occur if leaving the Builder with a multiseat structure that detaches into two, taking one part of it into the Builder, deleting it and then Undo’ing.

  • BUILDER - Fixed an Oh No that could occur if switching between Build Slots and Undo’ing.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a Controller specific bug with Cherry Picking Blocks and then being able to navigate into the Inventory and using the Right Stick moving both the Inventory selection and Builder camera at the same time.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a Controller specific bug with deleting a block via the Builder Locked UI and then moving the Right Stick both moving the selection and the Builder camera.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a bug where you could get stuck in the Builder if a structure outside of Build Slots was completely destroyed, you respawn without it and then you attempted to Undo in the Builder to get it back.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a bug where a change to Delay, Duration or Pause in the Configurator would require multiple Undo Inputs to actually Undo.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a bug where Transform repairing a structure in the Test Drive state would remove the unowned blocks.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a bug where the new Block notification shown on a category tab would not correctly update until you navigated into a category.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a bug where the bottom UI for the Configurator would not correctly be displayed if opening it with multiple different block types selected.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a bug which would prevent you from entering the Builder under specific circumstances.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a Controller bug where some invisible buttons would appear outside of the Builder Locked UI that could be navigated to.

  • BUILDER - Improved the UI around the Texture Picker.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a bug in the Blueprint History view where the Blueprint Preview would be a white square if exiting and entering the Builder with this being the open panel.

  • BUILDER - Fixed an Oh No that could occur if another player was sat in a structure owned by another player, that was in a Build Slot, and then the owner moved away from the structure and used the Transform shortcut to get their structure back.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a Controller bug where you would lose selection on selected blocks but not correctly exit the Colour Picker, Configurator or Decals menu when clicking an empty space in the Build Context.

  • BUILDER - Fixed a Controller bug where if using a Shortcut to navigate into UI elements it would deselect any selected blocks.

 

  • BLOCKS - Fixed a bug where the light on the Bomb Bay would not correctly light up green after leaving Builder and respawning.

  • BLOCKS - Fixed a bug where the Ammo UI on the Bomb Bay would remain red when it was reloaded and ready to use again.

  • BLOCKS - Fixed a bug where crosshairs from a weapon would not correctly be restored after repair if it was broken off a structure without it being fired.

  • BLOCKS - Fixed the Simple Ladder having a Build Bounds that was larger than the Block.

 

  • AIRBORNE - Fixed a bug where Repair Tokens would incorrectly be immediately refreshed after use in Campaign.

  • DANGER ZONE - Fixed a bug which would cause an Oh No when loading into Danger Zone in cases where the playtime stored in the save game was more than a thousand hours.

  • DETHRONE - Fixed a bug with Controller where navigation could be moved into the Builder at the very start of the game which would prevent you from dismissing the start UI.
